Ms. Cromwell focuses her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration and guardianship/ conservatorship proceedings, and has over 24 years of practice in the specialties of estate planning and administration. She handles estate planning needs from preparation of more basic plans, such as last wills and testaments, durable powers of attorney and advance medical directives (combined health care powers of attorney and living wills) to more complex planning utilizing revocable and irrevocable trusts, assignments of interests to trusts, deeds to trusts, and other trust funding mechanisms. Ms. Cromwell also counsels clients on probate avoidance techniques.
In regards to estate and trust administration, Ms. Cromwell has extensive experience in preparing clients for qualifications as Executors, Administrators, Trustees, Guardians, and Conservators before our local courts and assisting these fiduciaries with required filings with our local Commissioners of Accounts.
In regards to guardianship/conservatorship proceedings, Ms. Cromwell has considerable experience representing individuals seeking court appointment of themselves as guardians/conservators of individuals facing incapacity due to mental or physical decline.
Ms. Cromwell graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B. A. in Psychology and received her Juris Doctorate from The T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. She is a member of the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council and a past special volunteer prosecutor in the Virginia Beach Circuit Court.
