About Jack V. Tiernan

Jack V. Tiernan is an Associate at Midgett Preti Olansen. He focuses his practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, taxation planning, and family business succession planning.

Jack is a graduate of George Mason University School of Law, where he was a member of the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy. After law school, Jack spent a year clerking for esteemed judges of the Norfolk Circuit Court in Norfolk, Virginia. Jack obtained his undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University in U.S. History.

Jack’s practice is grounded in his understanding of the personal dynamics that drive the client’s decision-making. Having spent many years in sales prior to law school, Jack understands that clients usually come to his door because of a need to solve a problem rather than to obtain a document. Jack targets the unique problem each client is seeking to resolve, and crafts specific legal solutions to ensure peace of mind for you and your family.

Originally from southwest Georgia, Jack is a transplant to the Hamptons Road area. In his spare time, Jack enjoys walking with his wife and dogs in the First Landing State Park, finding quaint locally-owned coffee shops, and feigning surprise at the cash register in Costco. If he were able to find the time to practice, Jack swears he would be a decent golfer.
